Travel Photo Friday: Roadside Discovery

July 30, 2009

You never know what you will find when you take the back roads. Like an interesting collection of old military vehicles and a very impressed six year old boy.

Green Cove Springs, Florida

In addition to exploring the back roads, we highly recommend taking a dip in the Green Cove Springs pool (spring fed and very refreshing) or just have fun exploring the oak shaded park. The military museum was closed on the day we discovered it, but after getting home we found this information. More Friday Travel Photos here.

Kids and big vehicles...always seems to be a big fascination. Then again, you're talking to the woman with riding a Zamboni on her bucket list

I left a comment but not sure whther it went thru so here is comment 2.
Boys and real life Tonka Trucks, it has a magical tone to it. I remember seeing these huge earth movers when I was a kid and being terrified at the size. I was pathetic back then.

I think he'll be a back roads fan for the rest of his life. If that doesn't win him over on travel, not sure what will! Great shot!

Very funny....yes, big truck and not so little guy who seems to be growing an inch every day this summer. I never knew six would be such a time of growth spurts and changes. And there does seem to be some sort of magnetic connection between boys and trucks/wheels. He jumped out of the car before it had come to a complete stop. Couldn't believe his eyes.
