Seasonal Shift

April 3, 2017

Winter was quite a roller coaster for us. The highs included trips to Louisiana, Arizona, and our Harry Potter weekend in Orlando. The lows included emergency appendectomy for Adam, flu for all of us, and a frustrating state of limbo in regards to where and when we will be moving. Limbo is never a fun place to hang out for an extended period of time and in all of our years as a military family, this upcoming move has certainly been one of the most testing. But in the past two weeks plans are starting to taking shape and we are thrilled to be moving back to Japan.

This means that in addition to shifting from winter to spring, we are now quickly shifting into prep mode which means endless to-do lists, purging/packing, logistical juggling of summer plans, researching how to move with a dog (our first time to do that), and anticipating the good-byes and hellos that are on the horizon. Hoping to get back to more regular posting, but also realizing that the next few months are going to be pretty busy. It's funny that I used to think that after I had a couple of international moves under my belt the rest would be easier. Nope. Doesn't work that way, at least not for me. In fact, in some ways I think it may be harder now because I know all too well how exhausting the whole process is. Right now I am relishing the cherry blossoms, working on the basement, and trying to maintain balance. Never been a fan of roller coasters so hoping the rest of this move is a smooth one.
